About Pierre

Pierre
Geslin

A certified MBSR instructor, meditation teacher, author, and adult educator, Pierre brings together lived experience, mindfulness practice, and several decades devoted to communication and education.

The path

From lived experience to teaching.

Pierre’s path into mindfulness began in Australia in 1981, while seeking a way to live with severe tinnitus after a life-altering road accident. What began as a personal search became a lifelong practice.

After a two-year training programme, he became a certified MBSR instructor through the Institute for Mindfulness-Based Approaches in Germany. He subsequently taught eight-week MBSR programmes in groups and individually, in person and online.

Training and experience

Grounded credentials.

03

Adult education

Australian Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, professional adult-trainer qualification in France, and more than 8,500 hours of training recorded across his professional career.

04

Communication and journalism

BA in Communication from Université de Lille and journalism studies at EFAP Paris, followed by several decades in media, communication, and university teaching.

Practice in action

Teaching what is practised.

From 2018, Pierre taught eight-week MBSR programmes in France. His professional record covering 2018–2023 documents ten complete programmes and eighteen months of free weekly online meditation sessions during the COVID period.

His wider teaching experience includes five years lecturing in English communication at Université de Rennes 1 and UCO, following many years of adult education work in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Writing and translation

Carrying practice between languages.

Pierre translated Linda Lehrhaupt’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction: The MBSR Program for Enhancing Health and Vitality into French. Éditions Trédaniel published the translation as Se libérer du stress par la pleine conscience — Le programme MBSR en 8 semaines pour renforcer santé et vitalité.

His current work connects mindfulness, contemplative writing, haiku, and haiga. The Mindfulness Matrix is one expression of that continuing inquiry.
